The rooms at the hotel were spacious and clean, with comfortable beds and a great view of the city. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing us with a lot of information about the local attractions and the best places to eat. The location of the hotel was perfect, as it was close to the Hoan Kiem Lake and the night market, making it easy to explore the city.
The tour packages offered by the hotel were overpriced compared to other options available. We booked our tours with the hotel expecting good service and a well-planned itinerary, but we were disappointed.

The location of the hotel is good. It's close to the center and in a small but interesting street with a good and quite cheap restaurant Quong 1925 near it.
Poor breakfast poor English speaking staff

I loved the location of the hotel, it was central and really easy to find, the things I liked abou the room were the glass wall on to the balcony, there was a storm and it was lovely watching it whilst lying in bed. The set out of the room was also good. The fact that you could order a drink by room service anytime 24 hours for free (certain drinks) was great.
We were very unhappy when we were shown to a twin room without a balcony when I booked a royal double room with a balcony and city view, the guy from the hotel said that they had upgraded us and weren't aware that we were a couple??? I booked a double room and I wanted the balcony, he went downstairs and 2 minutes later came back with a key for another room which was exactly the room we had booked so all ok in the end. We ordered breakfast to the room (the american breakfast) and it was not as described in the menu, when we asked where the sausage was etc we were told that was just a picture and they didn't have any. The sholwer curtain was all mouldy which made me feel a bit ill. Not that it bothered me but the decor of the room was very dated - it looked like it hadn;t been updated for 20 years!! The roof above the balcony was leaking so we couldn't actually sit out on there which was a shame. The safety deposit boxes were dodgy and very hard to open (we heard others complain about theirs which they said they would go and open for them - defeats the object no?). Once checking out they didn't have anywhere secure to keep our bags which was irritating as we were scared to leave them but had no choice.

All staff members were superb in this boutique hotel. They couldn't be more helpful. We went on a 3-day trip to Sapa and got back to hotel at 4.30am. The hotel was fullly booked but as soon as a room became available that morning, we were allowed to take it. The front desk organised taxi to/from airport for us as well as the trip to Sapa. We were a few hours late to check out of our room the final day but we were never approached to get out of the room - incredibly patient!! Free coffee and orange juice available in the lobby all day 24-7. Location is also very good - only a 10 minute walk to Hoan Kiem Lake.

The location of this hotel is perfect, right on the edge of the Old Quarter. It's a convenient area, away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough to all the attractions. The rooms here are clean and well-equipped with good facilities. I particularly liked the big windows that offered a nice view of the streets below. The staff at this hotel are amazing. They provided excellent service, helping us book tours and greeting us warmly every time we entered the hotel. The breakfast served at this hotel was included in our rate and it was decent. They had a good selection of food, including delicious chicken noodle soup and refreshing juices.
All was fine.

The welcoming drink and city map were a nice touch. The location of the hotel was great, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The room was clean and had a computer with fast WiFi, which was handy for planning our activities.
The room was quite small and cramped, and the breakfast was very basic with limited options. I didn't feel like we got good value for the price we paid for our stay.

Impressive hotel- a superb choice. I stayed in a superior double room. The check-in process was very friendly and efficient. The room was very comfortable, especially the bed and this helped after a long day of touring and sightseeing. Our room was large and the bed was phenomenal!!!! Nice big bathroom with a separate WC and there were robes and slippers. As hoped, the bed was very comfortable with superior quality linen. The location is great! Its within a short walk from the lake, close to a supermarket, bars, stores and cultural attractions. I would stay here again and haven't anything negative to say about this lovely hotel and beautiful city.

Awesome hotel. I really enjoyed this hotel. The location is great because you can walk to the major tourist attractions. The rooms are just excellent, large, luxurious and comfortable with a king bed with TV, desk, big closet, and safe. It was quite modern and there were no signs of age. The bathroom was lovely, clean and very modern with a huge walk in shower. A large selection of toiletries was provided. The elevator, lobby were pristine. Check in was easy and quick and the girl on the desk spoke perfect english. I think this was to our advantage as the staff at the hotel were some of the nicest and friendliest I have come across. Their breakfast (included in our rate) was excellent. It's one of those hotels you look forward to revisiting.

Time at Hanoi Royal Palace hotel is unforgettable time of my life. Hotel can give me anything I want. It is so courteous. You can book tour directly at hotel to go to everywhere you want, you can even book train ticket to Da Nang and flight ticket to Can Tho and then from Can Tho to Ho Chi Minh city. You can be always served with the friendliest way that I have never had in another somewhere else. All you have to do is ask. And I also can't allow me to forget Christmas party at this hotel. I'm so surprised when one of staff told me that they will celebrate for us. At that time, all guests like me sat together and talk, talk, talk and cheer. Memorable! For all of reasons, I will come back and tell with everyone who is going to visit Hanoi to stay at this hotel.
